SMOOTH-CAST 45D - a urethane casting resin that cures quickly to
a semi-rigid plastic that offers excellent impact resistance. Low viscosity
for minimal bubble entrapment. Good for making high impact resistance
tools, prototypes, abrasion resistant parts, foundry patterns, vibration
pads, concrete stamping pads, etc. 1:1 mix by volume. Can be ordered
in 60D. PLASTI-PASTE - two part resin designed to hold a vertical surface without sagging. Cures to a strong, durable and lightweight plastic making it an excellent choice for mother/support molds or laminating material. 1:3 by volume mix. URE-FIL 3 - a ceramic filler that disperses easily in most Smooth On casting resins to produce a ceramic like finish. Can also be used as an extender thereby reducing the cost of each casting or as a thickener for brush on applications. Can be special ordered in Ure-Fil 5 for a wood grain effect.
SMOOTH-ON CASTING RESINS THAT CAN BE ORDERED THROUGH WESTERN SCULPTING SUPPLY SMOOTH-CAST ROTO - a low viscosity liquid plastic that gradually builds thixotropy (becomes thicker), making it ideal for rotational casting applications. Castings will be hollow and lightweight but have the appearance of being solid, allowing you to use less material to attain the same finished look (substantially lowering your material costs). Fully cured castings are semi-rigid and exhibit good impact resistance. Castings resist moisture and mild solvents and can be machined, sanded and painted. Color effects are possible by adding SO-Strong tm color tints. ROTO tm is ideal for making hollow rotationally cast parts. ROTO can also be cast solid for a variety of industrial and art-related applications. SMOOTH-CAST 316 UV is a low viscosity casting resins that yields castings that are bright white and resistant to ultra violet light. (castings will darken over time). SC 316 readily accepts fillers and can be pigmented. Castings are tough, durable, machinable, and paintable. CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. SMOOTH-CAST 320 SERIES - are ultra-low viscosity/low cost casting resins that yield virtually bubble-free castings. SC 320 Series resins yield castings that are off-white, and are sister products to our popular SC 300 Series of Bright White Plastics. The difference between these resins are pot life and demold time. They readily accept pigment and fillers and are well suited for cold cast metal applications. Available in SC 320 Fast, SC 321 Medium, and SC 322 Slow. SMOOTH-CAST 385 - a mineral filled urethane casting resin that is very hard and durable. High compressive and flexural strength. SC 385 is ideal for making industrial production parts, foundry patterns, vacuum forming molds and some ceramic applications. Crystal Clear 220 & 221 - water white clear resins made specifically for applications that require absolute clarity. These are heat cure systems and are harder versions of our popular Crystal Clear Series resins (Shore 85D). Cured castings are UV Resistant (resists yellowing due to ultra-violet light exposure) and are not brittle. Vibrant colors and color effects are achieved by adding pigment dispersions. Applications include encapsulation, making prototype models, lenses, sculpture reproductions, decorative cast pieces, jewelry, special effects and props. CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. TASK SERIES - a line of casting resins offering superior physical properties compared to the popular Smooth-Cast line of resins. They offer high tensile and flexural strength as well as high flexural modulus. These plastics were formulated for a variety of industrial applications including pattern making, prototype models and making high impact solid or rotational castings. These resins are designed for casting in thicknesses up to 1/2". TASK 7 resists ambient moisture. TASK 8 is a heat resistant polyurethane resin made specifically for prototyping/casting applications that require high thermal resistance and is suitable for machine housings, thermoforming and general prototyping. C-1508 - a relatively low viscosity aluminum filled urethane casting resin that was developed specifically for making short run vacuum forming molds. Cures overnight with negligible shrinkage to a very hard plastic that has a very high compressive and flexural strength. Can be polished, machined, drilled, painted, etc. and is used to make industrial production parts, prototype parts and tracing patterns. C-1509 - a semi-rigid plastic (has some flexibility) that is strong and very tough. Originally developed for high impact tooling (drop hammer punch), C-1509 also offers good abrasion and chemical resistance and is ideal for a variety of industrial applications. This product is suitable for some FDA/USDA applications - dry food contact only. Applications include making abrasion resistant parts, foundry patterns, encapsulation, roller facings, metal bonding and vibration pads. C-1515 - a fast setting urethane that cures in minutes to a semi-rigid plastic. It has a pot life of 3 minutes and demold of 20 minutes. With a Shore A value of 95, C-1515 is used for a variety of industrial applications that call for fast mold making, model duplication or high impact resistance. Castings (fully cured) are tough, durable and exhibit good heat and chemical resistance. Applications for C-1515 & 1520 include producing fast setting molds, making quick mold impressions, fast model duplication for prototype and design projects, mechanical parts, high impact tooling, holding fixtures, durable miniatures and special effects. C - 1520 is essentially the same material, but offers a longer pot life (10 minutes) and demold (45 minutes). SMASH PLASTIC - a urethane liquid plastic designed to shatter/crumble on impact (breakaway glass). It is water clear and, once fully cured, shatters like glass. It can be cast solid in thin sections to make window panes or rotationally cast to form hollow bottles, jars or other glasslike objects to be used as breakable props for movie and stage productions. Maximum recommended thickness is 1/8 (0.33 cm.). CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. UREFIL SERIES - Urefil 5 is the best choice for creating a wood grain effect. UREFIL 7 will improve dimensional stability and can be added to materials to make them flame-resistant.
